This bourbon geranium essential oil comes from Egypt.  It has a rose and apple-like scent, characteristic of geranium.  It is a useful detoxicant being both diuretic in nature and having a stimulating effect on the lymphatic system.  It can be beneficial for treating cellulite, fluid retention and swollen ankles. It

is also beneficial for the skin in its protective capacity - having anti-inflammatory properties, excellent astringent and haemostatic properties which make it useful for treating wounds and bruises and cytophylactic properties useful for treating  burns. It is also recommended for eczema and psoriasis and treating acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Geranium is said to have both a sedative and uplifting affect on the nervous system so excellent for stress and depression.  It is also recommended for hormone imbalances including menopause and PMT as it is said to stimulate the adrenal cortex who's hormones are essentially regulating and balancing.  

According to the principles of traditional Chinese Medicine, Geranium oil is cooling and moist.  It clears heat and has the ability to strengthen the flow of Qi.  It is therefore able to calm the mind, relax the body, ease frustration and irritability.  It is one of the key ingredients in our Hormone Harmoniser blend.
